Congrats to South Carolina junior Paul Jubb, who brought home the first national title in men’s tennis for the Gamecocks on Saturday, defeating Mississippi State’s Nuno Borges.
Borges was the No. 1 ranked player in the country, while Jubb was No. 5, and Jubb had lost to Borges twice before this season. Jubb beat Penn State’s Constant De La Bassetiere, Dan Little of Utah, UNC’s Benjamin Sigouin, Giovanni Oradini of Mississippi State, and Illinois’ Aleksandar Kovacevic before facing off against Borges in the title game.
