The South Carolina Gamecocks (9-4, 5-4 SEC) play the Florida St. Seminoles (9-4, 6-3 ACC) tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. South Carolina enters the game ranked #20, while Florida State sits at #23. Each team lost its respective conference championship game. This may be the best matchup of the bowl season thus far as Steve Spurrier tries to get past an old foe to earn the Gamecocks their second ten-win season in program history. Christian Ponder is expected to start at quarterback for the Seminoles after having his right elbow drained of fluids, leaving his ability to play in doubt up until a few days ago. South Carolina will have to step up in the secondary to keep the 'Noles at bay. However, I don't see the current Florida State team being able to match up talent-wise with the Gamecocks across the board, and I expect the two Carolina stars, Marcus Lattimore and Alshon Jeffery, to both have a big day in a South Carolina victory.
