isportsweb: Tide Hits Rock Bottom. John Mitchell thinks this loss to Carolina will hurt the Crimson Tide at NCAA selection time. Hard quote for a Gamecock fan to read: "To be honest, with as small as the crowd was at Colonial Life Arena, it’s hard to even justify calling it a road game. It certainly wasn’t a hostile environment." Ouch. He also nails Darrin Horn's offense: "For most of the night, South Carolina’s best offense was throwing up a rushed three-point shot, and then cleaning up the offensive glass." Yep, that's pretty much it.

AJC: Look who is playing hardball with recruits. The Yellow Jackets are among the vanguard of the holier-than-thou recruiting crowd, but they've pulled one scholarship already from one of their earliest commitments and now they're threatening to pull another to keep a kid from visiting Miami. Frankly, this is much worse to my mind than what Saban did with Justin Taylor - yet Johnson is considered among the angels. The double-standard is nauseating.
CBS Sports: The Big 12 still looking to expand.
Times Free Press: Catching up with Fat Phil. I bet he misses the HBC most of all.
Team Speed Kills: Year2 posts a SEC Recruiting Update.
ESPN: The sad story behind the de-commitment of offensive lineman Chester Brown. I don't understand the problem, since Chester's family says they emigrated to the U.S. legally then I don't know why a delay in obtaining the paperwork which UGA requires means Chester needs to de-commit.
Mr. SEC: The Swiper gets swiped. Well, the say turn about is fair play. And no one tries to flip others' recruits more than Petrino, so it's amusing to see him get shown up by James Franklin. I'm wondering, however, if Franklin is going to have anyone to talk to at the next SEC coaches confab.
