The Morning Feed: Steve Spurrier on First Take and Mike Leach defends The Hit

Steve Spurrier is bullish on Mike Davis, makes a solid Tom Rinaldi joke, and will be relying upon T.J. Gurley to be play a big role in 2013.

Streeter Lecka

You should never watch ESPN's "First Take" except when Steve Spurrier appears on the program. The Head Ball Coach addresses Stephen A. Smith as "Stephen A.", advocates for player compensation, and takes some subtle jabs at Clemson.

T.J. Gurley will be called upon to play a big role in 2013. But it's important to remember that he stepped up and had a great game as a true freshman when D.J. Swearinger was suspended in 2012.

Yesterday we told you about how FWTCT are not high on South Carolina's running backs. Well, they don't like our quarterbacks either.

Mike Leach is awesome. He doesn't like the new targeting rules and hasn't paid attention to the HUNH debate because he's writing a book about Geronimo.

South Carolina has graduated a lot of tight ends to the NFL in recent years. I'm not totally sure what it means, but apparently Jared Cook is replacing Danny Amendola as Sam Bradford's safety blanket in St. Louis.

The Hurry-Up, No-Huddle. Is that what what we want football to be? Yes, it is. Also, implementing it doesn't have a measurably negative impact on your defense.

Miscellaneous. Bob Stoops thinks it's a good idea to recruit on Twitter. B1G Media Day doesn't care if you killed your wife. Sixty years ago, you couldn't say the word "pregnant" on TV. There is a Kanye West RPG set in a dystopian future. We should do something like this.
