Gamecock Women's Soccer Takes Down No. 7 Duke

The South Carolina Gamecocks women's soccer team defeated the seventh-ranked Duke Blue Devils 1-0 last night in front of a large contingent of fans. The home of Gamecock Soccer, Eugene E. Stone III Stadium, lived up to its nickname of "The Graveyard" as the Gamecocks earned a big early season win over a skilled opponent. Despite the high ranking of the Blue Devils, South Carolina appeared from the onset to be the more imposing and athletic side. The game's lone goal was scored by Danielle Au (Forward/Midfielder, Sr.), her second on the year. The win moves the Gamecocks women's soccer squad to 2-0. The team defeated UNC-Wilmington Friday night in the season opener.
