On Wednesday afternoon, one of the country's best high school basketball players in the Class of 2016 set his fall visits as he prepares to narrow down the recruiting process.
South Carolina will receive one of three visits from 5-star power forward Dewan Huell. The Miami-product will visit Columbia on the weekend of Oct. 16 - a solid date for Martin's staff as the Gamecocks football team hosts Vanderbilt and the South Carolina State Fair will be underway.

Martin, a native of South Florida like Huell, has worked to convince one of the nation's best power forwards that South Carolina is a program on the rise. "Coach Martin is a real cool guy," Huell told Scout over the weekend. "I like what he has been telling me. We have been talking a lot, and I just like the program. The coaches just get stuff done and make their players better."
Huell stands at 6-foot-9, weighing 220 pounds and is incredibly skilled for his age. He's listed as a 5-star prospect by ESPN, Rivals, and 24/7 Sports. ESPN has him listed as the 21st overall prospect in the Class of 2016 while Rivals and 24/7 have him listed as the 22nd overall player.
Florida State and Miami seem to be the leaders for Huell and they will receive visits in the two weeks before he arrives in Columbia. That won't dim Martin's relentless reputation. You can bet he'd love to pluck a blue-chip recruit from the area he calls home.
