4-Star QB Jake Bentley commits to the South Carolina Gamecocks

4-Star QB Jake Bentley is coming home.

The talented pocket passer from Duncan, SC was one of the most coveted uncommitted quarterbacks in his class. According to the 247Sports Bentley is the sixth best pocket passer in the nation, and he chose South Carolina over offers from LSU, Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, Miami, and Stanford among others. Bentley's commitment comes on the heels of an impressive showing at the Elite 11 regional, where he earned the highest nike+ rating of all QB's, and showcased his strong arm. Having a big time QB commitment early in the cycle is a big boost, and will help build momentum for the for the Gamecock's 2017 recruiting class.

Head coach Will Muschamp foreshadowed a commitment with a #SpursUp tweet last night, and Bentley officially broke the news this morning at 10 AM:

Bentley is the son of South Carolina running backs coach Bobby Bentley, and was in Columbia this week to watch spring practice and look at high schools for his senior year. Although he has family ties to the program, he was personally recruited by Will Muschamp and Kurt Roper. Coach Boom sold himself to South Carolina fans on his ability to recruit, and he has certainly gotten off to a good start.
