Marcus Stroman to Transfer

The point guard has been granted his release and will play elsewhere after this season.

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

Marcus Stroman, a second year point guard from Keenan High School in Columbia, SC, has officially been granted release, and he will transfer. He will have to sit out a year, but still has two years of eligibility remaining.

Stroman, a 4-star guard prospect, never fully developed, and his scoring output was mediocre at best, as evidenced by his 2.9 PPG last season. After two seasons of average play, Stroman was not likely due to log heavy minutes. This is a minor blow to the depth at guard, as Carolina still has PJ Dozier, Sindarius Thornwell, Duane Notice, Justin McKie, and newcomer JUCO transfer Hassani Gravatt as established players.

To many, this transfer will not come as a shock due to the relative disappointment that the BB gun incident provided fans. To date, Chris Silva is the only participator of the act to have a future with the South Carolina Gamecocks men's basketball team.

We at Garnet and Black Attack wish the best for Marcus Stroman as he continues his basketball career elsewhere.
