South Carolina Gamecocks - The Feed Pail: June 30th, 2016

We're bringing the Feed Pail back to help get you through the doldrums of the offseason.

JC Shurburtt: "Should Gamecock Fans Pull for Coastal?" - Unfortunately, Mother Nature did not cooperate last night so CCU and Arizona could not get the third and final game in. However, that makes this piece by JC Shurburtt relevant into today.

SEC Sports: "2016 Spring Sports Honor Roll" - Yesterday the SEC released their entire Honor Roll for all spring sport athletes. Over 1,200 student-athletes making the list, with the South Carolina Gamecocks being well represented.

ESPN: "Who are the SEC's X-Factors for 2016?" - ESPN put together a list of which players are the x-factors for each team in the SEC. The pick for South Carolina is Darius English. Which makes some sense considering he is projected as a pure pass rusher in Muschamp's defensive sheme. And, as we all know, the Gamecocks have struggled to push the pocket the last two seasons.

John Whittle: "We're Going to be Successful" - This piece from TBS centers around Jeff Dillman, the new Strength and Conditioning coach under Will Muschamp. Coach Dillman speaks on how accountability is one of the largest aspects, especially when he first arrived, of his S&C program.

Frankie Moultrie: "Wando's OrTre's Smith Names Top Five Colleges" - Some recruiting news here for the big time prospect out of Wando High School. He recently trimmed his recruiting sheet of 20 offers down to 5 schools. The Gamecocks, Clemson Tigers, Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, and North Carolina Tar Heels all made the cut. Smith is rated as the top rated prospect in the state of South Carolina for the class of 2017 and the 135th best recruit nationally according to 247Sports. Sydney also wrote a little about it other day here.

GABA: "Connor Shaw Joins the GABACast" - A little shameless self promotion here. But Connor Shaw, former South Carolina great at QB, joined our podcast this week as we continue our season preview/review series. Throughout the summer we'll be looking ahead at the 2016 schedule game by game by looking at specific matchups from the past. This week Connor joined us to speak about the 2011 game against the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
