Ingram, Jeffery, Clowney show off for Gamecocks in the NFL

A look at how former South Carolina players fared in the NFL last week.

NFL: Arizona Cardinals at Houston Texans Shanna Lockwood-USA TODAY Sports

DE Melvin Ingram, Chargers: Ingram tallied just one tackle, but added an 18-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown after a teammate’s strip sack, and who doesn’t love a scoop and score?

WR Alshon Jeffery, Eagles: Jeffery led Philadelphia with four catches for 67 yards and a touchdown as it romped past rival Dallas. His score was an impressive and vintage Alshon snag in traffic:

WR Bruce Ellington, Texans: Ellington enjoyed a productive day as Houston’s second-leading receiver, notching six receptions for 63 yards and a rushing attempt for five yards as Houston beat up on Arizona. He also took part in a fun relay race celebration:

DE Jadeveon Clowney, Texans: Fellow Texan Clowney also put in work, racking up five tackles, including two sacks, 3.5 tackles for loss, and three quarterback hits in a dominant performance.

S D.J. Swearinger, Redskins: Swearinger tallied six tackles, a pass defensed, and an interception for Washington in its overtime loss to New Orleans. The change in scenery this season seems to be a good fit for him.

RB Mike Davis, Seahawks: Davis, who was cut by the 49ers and then picked up by Seattle, was promoted to its active roster this week. He had six carries for 18 yards and two catches for 41 yards before leaving the game in the third quarter with a groin strain.

CB Stephon Gilmore, Patriots: Gilmore was second on the team with five tackles and pass defensed for New England in its big win against Oakland.

TE Jared Cook, Raiders: Cook had a quiet day with two receptions for 36 yards as the Raiders struggled.

K Ryan Succop, Titans: Succop was a perfect 2-for-2 on extra points and drilled a 44-yard field goal, but missed another attempt as Pittsburgh blew out Tennessee.

TE Jerell Adams, Giants: Adams notched one catch for six yards for New York.

S Darian Stewart, Broncos: Stewart logged a tackle for Denver in its loss to Cincinnati.

PR/KR Pharoh Cooper, Rams: Cooper returned two kickoffs for 60 yards with a long of 34, and returned two punts for 12 yards.
