South Carolina women back in action against Rutgers

After a short break for Thanksgiving, the Gamecocks hit the court.

The Gamecocks handled business against Wofford, 94-60, behind A’ja Wilson’s fourth straight double-double (16 points, 13 rebounds) and another 3-point shooting clinic from Lindsey Spann (3-of-4 for 12 points). South Carolina saw four others reach double figures — starters Alexis Jennings (13), Ty Harris (13) and Doniyah Cliney (10), and Mikiah Herbert Harrigan added 12 off the bench with seven rebounds.

What to watch for

South Carolina travels to Estero, Fla., for the eight-team Gulf Coast Showcase this weekend. The Gamecocks open play against Rutgers, which is also 4-0 to start the season and defeated Wake Forest 65-51 its last time out. The Scarlet Knights are led by veteran guards Tyler Scaife (18.3 points per game) and Jazlynd Rollins (10 ppg). Rutgers went just 6-24 last season. The Gamecocks do have ranked company, with No. 6 Notre Dame and No. 17 South Florida also in the tournament field.
