Before taking a break for Thanksgiving, the Gamecocks dispatched Western Michigan for the second time this season, 79-66, to grab a fifth-place finish in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off Classic. (It was also Frank Martin’s 100th victory at South Carolina.) Guard Wesley Myers, a graduate transfer from Maine, saw his first extended action of the season, coming off the bench to play 27 minutes and going 5-of-9 from the field to finish with 14 points for the Gamecocks. Chris Silva (14), Frank Booker (11) and Felipe Haase (10) also reached double figures for South Carolina.

What to watch for

The Panthers (2-3) have also been off for the holiday, last playing Nov. 19 in a 77-67 win against Concordia-St. Paul in the Black and Gold Shootout. Eric Lockett leads FIU with 16 points and seven rebounds per game, trailed closely by Trejon Jacob with 15.8. Brian Beard Jr. is another Panther averaging double figures (11 points). FIU has had a shaky start to the season, taking losses to Stetson, Elon (in triple overtime) and Milwaukee.
