Powered by a strong performance from their frontcourt, the Gamecocks took care of Wyoming 80-64. Chris Silva led South Carolina with 19 points and 10 rebounds, and freshman big man Felipe Haase broke out with 17 points and nine rebounds. Frank Booker added 16 points with some 3-point shooting and Justin Minaya scored 11 as the Gamecocks turned in another effort that left coach Frank Martin unsatisfied.

What to watch for

The Chanticleers are coming off a narrow 85-81 victory against a 4-7 Hampton squad. Coastal has three players averaging double figures between Zac Cuthbertson (17.8 points per game), Jaylen Shaw (16), and Demario Beck (10.6). Shaw is a South Carolina transfer, who played in 28 games with the Gamecocks as a freshman in the 2013-14 season. Coastal was picked to finish eighth out of 12 teams in the Sun Belt, and placed Shaw on the preseason all-conference second team.
