4-star wide receiver Josh Vann (Tucker, Ga.) announced his commitment to the South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday following the opening game of his senior season.

The announcement came almost immediately after a monster performance, in Georgia State’s new stadium, no less, from Vann. He recorded three touchdown catches - a one-handed grab, a 78-yard burner and an overtime TD to seal the game - in the Tucker Tigers’ 28-27 win over the Kell Longhorns.

Vann’s commitment marks the end of a summer long battle between Georgia and South Carolina for his pledge.

The cupboards may seem stocked at wide receiver right now for the Gamecocks, but Vann’s primarily a slot receiver who excels in the middle of the field. Outside of the tight ends, there are not really any proven entities on the roster right now that can fill that role.
