Last game

The Gamecocks were trounced at Alabama, 76-62, in a game they never led and saw deficits as large as 20 points. South Carolina did rally a couple times to get the margin within single digits, but the Tide shot a blistering 59% from the floor to put any hopes of a comeback on ice. Wes Myers had another big game for South Carolina, leading the Gamecocks with 15 points, while Chris Silva was held to just nine after dealing with foul trouble. Injured guard Hassani Gravett also returned to the lineup after missing three games.

What to watch for

The Gamecocks are looking for their third straight victory over the Bulldogs, but Georgia is undefeated at home this season and this be another tough matchup for South Carolina. Most recently, the Bulldogs fell 68-56 at Missouri, but blistered Alabama 65-46.

Big man Yante Maten leads the Bulldogs with 19.3 points and 8.9 rebounds per game, and was recently named to the Wooden Award’s top 25 list. Georgia grabbed a few nice non-conference wins earlier this season against Marquette, St. Mary’s, and Temple, the latter of which beat the Gamecocks.
