As the South Carolina Gamecocks return to the gridiron after their bye week, they have opened as 7.5-point favorites over the visiting Tennessee Volunteers this weekend.
Under new head coach and fellow Nick Saban disciple Jeremy Pruitt, the Vols are 3-4 (1-3 SEC), with their signature win an upset road victory over then-No. 22 Auburn a couple weeks ago. Their last time out, the Vols were trucked by No. 1 Alabama, but who hasn’t been?
Tennessee is 3-4 against the spread this season, while the Gamecocks are 3-3. This spread admittedly seems a little high to me — it’s the biggest margin South Carolina has been favored by since the opener against Coastal Carolina — but this is certainly a contest the Gamecocks have a great chance to win.
What do y’all think about this line?
