Last game

The Gamecocks survived a bit of a scare from the Florida Gators, using a big run in the second quarter to get them enough breathing room to hang on for a 64-57 win. A’ja Wilson led South Carolina with 22 points and 11 rebounds, Ty Harris added 18 points, and Doniyah Cliney scored 12. The Gamecocks won their second straight as they continued to right the ship after tough losses against UConn and at Mississippi State.

What to watch for

With both the Gamecocks and the Bulldogs tied with Tennessee for second in the SEC standings, this game carries conference tournament seeding implications. If South Carolina wins, it’ll have a leg up in securing a double-bye as one of the SEC’s top four teams.

Georgia is enjoying a successful season so far, though it’s coming off a lopsided 62-46 loss to Tennessee. Junior forward Caliya Robinson is the SEC’s only player to rank in the top 10 in the conference in three defensive categories: blocks (79), steals (45), and defensive rebounds (146). Robinson also averages 12.6 points, putting her in double figures alongside fellow forward Mackenzie Engram (13.1).
