Last game
The Gamecocks shocked No. 10 Auburn in Columbia, upsetting the Tigers 84-75 after building a ridiculous 46-25 halftime lead and then hanging on down the stretch. Frank Booker continued his strong play with a team-leading 19 points, while Chris Silva notched his sixth double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds and Wes Myers added 13 points off the bench. It was a fitting celebration for former Gamecocks Sindarius Thornwell, Justin McKie, and Duane Notice, who received their Final Four rings at the game.
What to watch for
The Bulldogs are coming off a winning week, having first posted a 72-69 overtime win against rival Florida and then knocking off No. 19 Tennessee 73-62. Senior forward Yante Maten has continued to stand out for Georgia, leading the team and the SEC in scoring at 19.5 points per game. He’s also in the league’s top 10 in rebounding, field goal percentage, and free-throw percentage.
In their last meeting on Jan. 13, the Gamecocks beat the Bulldogs 64-57 in Athens. South Carolina is currently enjoying a three-game winning streak over Georgia.
