Heading into their SEC East showdown this weekend in Lexington, the South Carolina Gamecocks are slight 1.5-point underdogs the the 17th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats.
The line has seen a lot of movement in just a few days, as it initially opened in favor of South Carolina, tabbing the Gamecocks as 1-point favorites before the trends turned toward the hometown team. In some books, Kentucky was favored by as much as 2 points, but the consensus has settled around that 1.5-point margin.
The Wildcats, fresh off their impressive 28-7 win over a then-Top 15 Mississippi State team, have rejoined the AP Top 25 rankings for the first time since 2007. With excitement running high, the program has started to push star running back Benny Snell for awards, and we all know the Gamecocks are currently laboring under an unfortunate losing streak to the Wildcats.
The over/under is set at 49.5, with a projected score of 30-26 in favor of South Carolina, interestingly enough. The Gamecocks are 2-1 against the spread this season, while Kentucky is 2-2.
