South Carolina at Tennessee: Week 9 Injury Report

A very familiar name is back on the list.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL: OCT 12 South Carolina at Georgia

The South Carolina Gamecocks will take the trek up to Tennessee in relatively good health, but unfortunately, with a key contributor back on the injury report that he knows all too well. Let former and oft-banged up cornerback Akeem Auguste guide you through this week’s casualties.

Zero Augustes - Full go!

One Augustes - Should play, but won’t start

Two Augustes - Game-time decision

Three Augustes - Questionable

Four Augustes - Unlikely

Five Augustes - Out

Rico Dowdle — Five Augustes

The veteran running back, who could unfortunately supplant Akeem as the title sponsor of this post at this point, left last week’s game against Florida almost immediately with a knee sprain. He’s expected to miss two weeks in total, and while it’s huge shame that he’s back on the shelf during what’s been a great season for him, Tavien Feaster put up 175 yards against the Gators and Mon Denson added 58.

A.J. Turner — Five Augustes

The running-back-turned-cornerback, who’d be a nice piece to have in the backfield with Dowdle’s absence, is unfortunately banged up himself with a hamstring injury. Fortunately, he should only miss this week, according to coach Will Muschamp.

Damani Staley — Five Augustes

The reserve linebacker is dealing with turf toe and will be out the next two weeks, but thankfully doesn’t need surgery.
