South Carolina football got a little more love on Thursday evening, as four Gamecocks earned spots on the preseason All-SEC coaches teams.

Wide receiver Bryan Edwards and defensive lineman Javon Kinlaw landed on the second team, while linebacker T.J. Brunson and defensive back Jaycee Horn are third-team selections.

As the team’s top receiver, Edwards need no introduction to Gamecock fans, but his stats are fun to list regardless: He’s currently fifth in receptions (163), sixth in receiving yards (2,229) and tied for ninth in receiving touchdowns (16) to go with five 100-yard receiving games and a catch in every game he’s appeared in (38, with 37 of those starts).

Kinlaw has proven himself to be a handful on the line of scrimmage, as he’s amassed 58 tackles (12 for loss), including 4.5 sacks, deflected eight passes, forced three fumbles, recovered two, and has also blocked a pair of kicks.

Brunson is an elder statesman of the Gamecock defense and has started every game over the past two seasons. For his career, he’s racked up 206 tackles, with 15 for loss and six sacks.

Finally, Horn is a rising star for South Carolina. He’s coming off an impressive freshman campaign that saw him make 10 starts, with 45 tackles and two sacks. The Gamecocks expect big things out of him as a future leader of the defense.
