The bookies in Las Vegas expect this trip to Charlotte will be more successful than the last one for the South Carolina Gamecocks, as they’ve been installed as 9.5-point favorites over the North Carolina Tar Heels in the teams’ season opener on Saturday.
The line has seen some movement in favor of Carolina, which originally opened as a 7.5-point favorite, and has risen as high as Gamecocks by 10 at some books.
The Tar Heels announced earlier today that true freshman and former Florida State commitment Sam Howell will start at quarterback.
The over/under is set at 63.5, with UNC expected to cover.
