The Gamecocks won their series against Charleston Southern over the weekend to improve to 6-2 overall. Carolina will host Furman today in their final game before facing Clemson this weekend in the first big test of the season.
South Carolina leads the all-time series against Furman 115-55-2. The Paladins opened the season by sweeping Marist, but have lost four straight games after losing to Clemson last week and getting swept by NC State over the weekend.

The Carolina starter will be Logan Chapman (1.93 ERA, 7 SO, 4 BB). The freshman right-hander pitched three innings in his first start for the Gamecocks against Winthrop last week. Sophomore RHP Trent Alley is expected to start for Furman. He has four strikeouts and has not allowed an earned run yet this season.
