Wojnarowski: PJ Dozier to hire agent, forgo final two years of eligibility at South Carolina

The #WOJBOMB we didn’t want to see.

NCAA Basketball: Final Four-South Carolina vs Gonzaga Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Well, so long, PJ Dozier.

The South Carolina sophomore - who a week ago declared for the NBA Draft without hiring an agent (which opened the door for him to return to USC if he wanted) - has now indeed decided to hire an agent as he pursues a career in the league. That’s according to Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski, who’s about as spot on as it gets in basketball circles.

Dozier didn’t bring an agent on right away because he wanted to consult with his family and others before making a firm decision whether or not he wanted to return to college. But after a little over half a week, his future was decided. A few mock drafts we’ve seen haven’t shown Dozier as of yet; however, a strong showing at pre-draft workouts and May’s draft combine could improve his stock.

Dozier was the team’s second-leading scorer with 13.9 points a game in 36 games (all starts). He enjoyed a strong NCAA Tournament - averaging 15.6 points a game while scoring 21 against Marquette (on 9-14 shooting) and 17 against Florida and Gonzaga.
