South Carolina football recruiting: In-state OT/DE Javon Kinlaw commits

Will Muschamp adds another Palmetto State product to his stable.

Another South Carolina product is joining the class that Will Muschamp's building in Columbia.

Javon Kinlaw, a defensive end from Goose Creek that also play offensive tackle, became the latest player to pledge to the Gamecocks. He becomes the sixteenth player to commit and the fifteenth high school senior to choose to come to Columbia.

Kinlaw, who is believed to be headed to junior college, has a deep list of offers. Along with South Carolina, other schools on that list include Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Louisville and WIsconsin. He is ranked as the #9 player in South Carolina regardless of position (by Rivals) and is slotted a few spots higher at #4 over at 247Sports. Regardless, the Gamecocks look to have picked up a solid player.

Muschamp continues to chase and grab talent from within the state, something that the previous staff had gone away from. Of the 23 high school signees in the 2015 class, only four came from in-state schools. That was down from eight a year prior to that. If Muschamp and his staff can continue to build a solid recruiting pipeline within the borders and develop relationships with Palmetto high school coaches, he'll have a shot at some of the bigger names from around South Carolina that are out there and steer them away from going elsewhere.
