Jamyest Williams is on his way to Oklahoma for an official visit. Hale McGranahan cited a tweet this morning from cornerback Justin Broiles, who has pledged to Bob Stoops and the Sooners. As I mentioned a few days ago, I still expect Williams to stay on board with the class, which is consistent with what his father has said in interviews (as Hale pointed out in his piece).
The Gamecocks have two committed corners right now - Williams and Florida’s Tavyn Jackson - and keeping them on board is key, especially with Damarri Mathis’s recent decommitment. I’m growing less confident that Jackson will be a part of this class when it’s all said and done. It wouldn’t shock me to see the staff at Maryland flip him during or shortly after his official visit this weekend.
Johnson official coming
Hearing from Phil Kornblut on an OV for Brad Johnson (TBD, but it will be after visits to Tennessee and Virginia Tech). Johnson has taken two unofficial visits - first in July and then again in October.
On the road
Among in-home visits last night: Will Register. Pat Washington was in Chapin to check on the tight end commit. Register figures to get a large role in the receiving game, especially looking at how Hayden Hurst has rounded into a weapon for Jake Bentley.

The staff is in Florida to visit with RB pledge Kyshaun Bryan today. Will Muschamp and Shawn Elliott will also see OL Jerry Drake Jr. tomorrow.
2018 Miami DE offered
The staff continues to work their contacts in the Sunshine State. The Gamecocks offered Miami (Fla.) Southridge DE James Head Jr. on Wednesday morning. A three-star recruit, Head also has offers from Nebraska, Mississippi State, and N.C. State.
