Game one of the Shawn Elliott (interim) era: a success. How will game two fare? The South Carolina Gamecocks descend on Kyle Field for the first time in program history as they take on the Texas A&M Aggies in College Station.
The Gamecocks are coming off a 19-10 win over Vanderbilt as they scored 13 in the second half to grab an important pre-off week win. However, a tough stretch awaits. After today's matchup against the Aggies, they visit Tennessee next week, with games against nationally-ranked Florida and Clemson book-ending a date with The Citadel.
As for the Aggies, it seems like ages ago when they were ranked and being thought of as having at least a fighter's chance at a spot in the College Football Playoff. But another mid-season swoon has them looking to avoid a three-game losing streak. They were zapped by Alabama 41-23 in Tuscaloosa before being strangled at Ole Miss 23-3. Kevin Sumlin has made a switch at the QB position: Kyler Murray will get the call today in place of Kyle Allen as an offense that scored 39.2 points in its first five games has sputtered.
