#2 South Carolina Gamecocks vs. #10 Mississippi State Bulldogs

When: Sunday, January 24th, 5 pm

Where: Humphrey Coliseum, Starkville, Mississippi

How to watch: ESPN2 / WatchESPN

Three-Point Preview

1. Something's gotta give when these two contenders meet Sunday afternoon in StarkVegas. Both teams average over 75 points per game, with the Gamecocks averaging 76.7 and the Bulldogs at 76.8. Both are allowing under 55 points per game to their opponent. The 17-3 Bulldogs are undefeated at home at 11-0, while South Carolina maintains its undefeated record for the year. While Mississippi State is coming off an ugly 47-43 loss to Georgia, and has dropped two out of the last three, this team is eager to prove they belong among the elite of women's college hoops.

2. While South Carolina's starters have certainly led this year's team to its undefeated record, it wouldn't have been done without the help of their bench. South Carolina's bench has provided 20 points off the pine in four of the Gamecocks' last six games and totaled 27 bench points against Auburn Thursday night. If the Gamecocks hope to keep their five game winning streak against Mississippi St. alive, they're gonna need all the help they can get from their bench Sunday evening.

3. Alaina Coates woke up from her slight slump Thursday night. The junior center notched another double-double, posting 17 points and 10 rebounds, both of which led the team for the night. The Bulldogs are led by sophomore forward Victoria Vivians, the only Bulldog to average double-digits in points. Coates and A'ja Wilson will be keyed in on stopping her for the Gamecocks to escape with another W.
