They (Clemson) have got a good running back they're facing, and he's a young man who hasn't fumbled any. For them to win the football game this week, they're going to have to cause some turnovers and fumbles and make the quarterback throw some interceptions. Because they'll probably have a hard time shutting down the running game and the passing game, too. So they've got to have some help from South Carolina, I believe." - Former Clemson head coach Danny Ford

It's really no surprise....
saying that if South Carolina holds onto the football we win the game is the same as John Madden saying that the team that scores the most points wins.
And yet, that is the biggest key. The first stat I look at if I can’t watch a game is the turnover margin and whether or not Garcia threw any INT’s. It’s so fundamental, so basic and yet it remains the key. Hold on to the football and you’ll probably win. Turn it over and you have USC @ Clemson 2008. Turn it over and you have UGA @ USC 2008, 2002. Turn it over and you have USC at Auburn 2010.
It kills me because it is so basic and yet every week it is what I worry about.
That being said, Garcia played very well in the Swamp. Here’s to hoping he has a similar performance in the fake Death Valley.

I'm much more confident in this team's ability to hold onto the ball than I was in teams of years past.
Lattimore protects the ball well, and Garcia has generally done so dating back to last season. There are some exceptions with Garcia, but he seems to finally get it when it comes to protecting the ball.
