There's an error in there somewhere

“John Wall, I’ll Pay You to Come to KU” was either a Kansas site, or a UK site that the reporter misnamed.

As he writes for the NYT, I suspect he is more likely to get the name right than know the difference between UK and KU.

"But if they don’t commit to Duke, I unfriend them."

Classic. I won’t say anything negative about the Blue Devils on Skulls’’ post, but you have to admit that is textbook Cameron Craziness.

They wore garnet helmets.

Sorry. No worries, tryptic. I'm used to hearing it all at this point.

That was a ridiculous comment. The Crazies come up with some great chants, but they’re often a different breed.

That guy is a 30 year old son of a Duke alum

He’s probably never watched a game with the Crazies in his life, and I doubt it is coincidental that he failed to mention any Duke football recruits. Bandwagon fans are often some of the craziest ones out there for any school.

It has always mystified me

why Duke doesn’t support its football team. With its academic reputation, and playing the the topsy-turvy ACC, it should be more like Stanford or Northwestern than Rice or Vanderbilt (and Vandy’s aspirations are hampered more by its league competition).

Duke has some great football tradition too. While, Wallace Wade Stadium is a bit of a relic, I think it suffers mostly because the fans just don’t turn out. Were I so lucky and smart to be part of the Blue Devil Athletic Department, rather than have a camp-out for student tickets to Cameron Indoor Stadium, I’d make the kids go to 5 out of 6 football home games before I’d let them in the lottery for hoops tickets. Who knows? They might actually enjoy it.

They wore garnet helmets.

I've always wondered the same thing. I know they have certain limitations that prevent them from competing at the highest level, which is harder for football programs at elite academic institutions than basketball programs...

but I don’t really see why they can’t field a relatively competitive team in the ACC. I mean, they’re not just uncompetitive, they usually stink. They’d have trouble winning in the Sun Belt most years.
