Coach Frye Inducted Into Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Hall of Fame

The United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association has inducted USC Track & Field and Cross Country coach, Curtis Frye, to the Coaches Hall of Fame

Garnet and Black Attack would like to congratulate University of South Carolina Track & Field and Cross Country Coach, Curtis Frye, on his induction to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Coach Frye is entering his 17th year as a member of the athletic department at USC and has garnered many accolades along the way including:

  • Three-time National Coach of the Year,
  • Nike Coach of the Year,
  • USOC Track & Field Coach of the Year,
  • Three-time SEC Coach of the Year, and served as
  • President of the USTFCCCA (2009 - 201)
In addition, Frye has coached:
  • 25 Olympians,
  • Over 60 NCAA Champions,
  • Over 415 NCAA All-Americans,
  • Over 100 SEC Champion,
  • The Team USA Men's Track team for the 2013 World University Games,
  • And was an assistant coach to the United States Women's Track and Field 2004 Summer Olympics team.
These highlights are just a snapshot of the legendary career of one of the Gamecocks' most distinguished coaches. Along with coach Frye the USTFCCCA will honor Ron Allice, Al Cantello, Dennis Craddock, Jim Hunt, and Paul Olsen.
