In their second conference matchup of the season, Dawn Staley's Gamecocks had no trouble knocking off a mediocre LSU squad, winning in Baton Rouge 75-51.
The Gamecocks put this one away early, roaring out to a 37-22 lead by intermission and coasting throughout the second half. Given the Gamecocks' sizeable athletic advantage over lower-tier competition, you can expect a lot of results like this when Carolina takes on teams like LSU, which simply doesn't have the players to match up with Staley's stars.
Individually, A'ja Wilson put up big numbers for the Gamecocks, scoring 21 points on 7-11 shooting. Wilson added 13 boards to notch a double-double. Tiffany Mitchell added 17 points.
The win brings Carolina to 14-0 on the season and 2-0 in conference play. Alabama, which is currently winless in conference play after losing to Kentucky and Georgia, is up next.
