First ... the feel good stuff:
Daily Gamecock: Marion McCurry says Don't temper exceptions for women's hoops and Adam Orfinger writes that Dawn Staley’s Four-headed offensive attack presents catch-22 to opposing defenses.
David Caraviello: As for Frank Martin’s team, No. 20 ranking 'really doesn't mean a lot' to Gamecocks who have their eyes on March.
Bleacher Report: Grading First Year Coaches. You can navigate back or forward to see the other grades. Considering where we were expected to finish, I think BR is short-changing ‘Champ here.
CBS Sports: The Tiffany Network’s basketball gurus give a shout-out to the Cocks and Devan Downey.
The State: Top 2018 prospect Xavier Thomas (Wilson H.S., Florence, S.C.) leaving state for senior season. Meanwhile, Muschamp, T-Rob head out West for recruiting stop and 2017 Gamecock commit OrTre Smith named SCFCA Back of Year.
Phil Kornblut: More on the recruiting trail - Gamecocks out front for Georgia DB and DL Romello Martin sets his official visit with USC.
OK ... and now for the hard part:
Ben Kercheval: All the ways Clemson disrespected South Carolina on Saturday. This is a from a national sports-writer, by the way.
SportstalkSC: Radakovich considers matter of racial slurs closed.
The Rubber Chickens: Snap Judgments – 2016 USC @ Clemson Edition. The definitive post-mortem.
Gamecock Toast: Carnage in the Valley; Gamecocks accuse Clemson of being disrespectful. Another serious must-read from the usually light-hearted GT.
Gamecock Central: Scott David - Night of the Living Dread. Angst, advice and anxiety. Plus - Gamecocks welcome bowl game and chance for redemption by Scott Hood.
Saturday Down South: Clemson players mock South Carolina after blow-out win. Stay classy, Clemmy. If we suck so bad, then DeShaun doesn’t deserve a Heisman just for one big night against a 6-5, -24 point underdog; if his game against us does deserve Heisman recognition, however, then why did he under-perform for most of the season? Sure, Tiger Town get the in-state bragging rights and it was an epic beatdown, but what does it say about the inability of Clemson’s staff to motivate the Tigers in earlier games against Pitt, State or Troy, or allow a clearly inferior Louisville team to take them down to the wire? Once the Tigers can stop gloating, they ought to be asking themselves some serious questions. And yeah, we will remember, too.
Keep your chin up, Kid
Post & Courier: All that talk didn’t make you first team All-ACC, did it DeShaun?
Spurs & Feathers: Gamecocks Need to Keep These Five Things in Mind.
Gamecocks Online: Gamecocks Kick Off Annual Week of Giving.
SEC Country: Connor Shaw Tweets Images of His Remarkable Rehab. Winner.
The Big Spur: Refresher - USC Football Coaches’ Contracts.
Scout: Watch the video - and pay attention at the beginning - Ranking SEC Graduation Success Rates (from 11.21). We’re ahead of Clemson, too. Spurrier & Crew deserve all the opprobrium they are getting about their poor recruiting efforts at the end, but the 2009-2015 GSR score is something the HBC can point to with pride - and Muschamp can use with the recruits.
