SEC Power Rankings: Mississippi State is back?

Good Lord, the Bulldogs of Mississippi State absolutely demolished Kentucky. Tennessee is still awful, and I will bet money that Butch Jones is fired on January 1st. These power rankings are literally Alabama, Georgia, and everyone else right now. I don't really know what else to say.

14. Missouri Tigers (LW: 14)

They beat Idaho so they’re still irrelevant.

13. Tennessee Volunteers (LW: 11)

I hate Tennessee and they suck a lot. One of their players flicked off the crowd when UT got a pick-6, and at that point they had been shut out and were down by three touchdowns. It was an L, he only added to it.

12. Arkansas Razorbacks (LW: 10)

Brett Bielema has to be on the hot seat right now. They just got beat by 32 at home by Auburn after getting embarrassed by South Carolina and Alabama. It’s going to be an extremely long rest of the season for Arkansas, and don't be surprised if Bielema ends up getting the boot.

11. Vanderbilt Commodores (LW: 12)

Vanderbilt had a bye this week and only went up because Arkansas and Tennessee are terrible. They get to play USC in Columbia this weekend, which should be a solid game.

10. Ole Miss Rebels (LW: 13)

Whoever this guy in the photo is gone at the end of the season. Just kidding, I know his name, it’s Matt Luke. Shea Patterson was the only bright spot of this team, and he is out for the rest of the season. The season is probably gonna go down the drain fast for the Landsharks.

9. Florida Gators (LW: 5)

Florida’s two losses have come in very close games, but it’s been to LSU, who lost to Troy, and a pretty good Texas A&M team. However, the rest of the schedule doesn't look good. They get to play Georgia this week, and still have to go to Columbia to the play the Gamecocks. To me, the Gators finish at 6-6. I might be wrong by a game here or there, but don't be shocked if that is where they end up.

8. Kentucky Wildcats (LW: 5)

Listen, I know Kentucky beat South Carolina and lost to Florida. However, Kentucky still hasn't played Georgia and losing this game to the other Bulldogs basically knocked them out of the race for the East. If they would've beaten Mississippi State, I would've been extremely high on them, but they got beat 45-7. That is just unacceptable for a team that has played pretty well this year. They still have to play Georgia, but other than that, they have a pretty good chance of winning out. They’ll be higher up if they do, but it needs to happen first.

7. LSU Tigers (LW: 9)

LSU has strung together three pretty good games after dropping a stinker to Troy, beating Florida, Auburn, and Ole Miss. The Auburn and Florida wins mean more to me, since I would consider both of those teams good. I don't trust LSU to finish the season on a high note, considering they still have to play Alabama and Texas A&M. I’ll take them to be around the 8-4 mark.

6. Mississippi State Bulldogs (LW: 8)

Mississippi State’s two losses came from Georgia and Auburn, which is who I would consider two of the top four teams in the SECe. They just beat the breath out of Kentucky, which is one of the teams that had a really good season up to this point. They get to play Texas A&M this week, and the only game that is a sure loss left is Alabama. I’d consider this a good season so far for Dan Mullen’s team.

5. South Carolina Gamecocks (LW: 5)

South Carolina got to stay at five because they were the only team who won out of the three teams who were in the mix for this spot. Sure, they played the lesser of the opponents in Tennessee and get to play Vanderbilt this week, but they only have one extremely tough SEC game left in going to Georgia. They still have a chance at winning the East, but it’s slim. A win over Vanderbilt this weekend would be a good first step.

4. Texas A&M Aggies (LW: 4)

The Aggies had a bye this previous weekend, but they do seem somewhat on their way to winning the nine games Kevin Sumlin needs to keep his job. I don't know if they do it between Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and Auburn. It’s going to be a tough stretch for the rest of the year for A&M.

3. Auburn Tigers (LW: 3)

Coming off a loss to LSU, they beat a really bad Arkansas team like they should have. This upcoming game versus Texas A&M should be a really good one to watch. Auburn still has to play Georgia and Alabama, and if they can somehow go 1-1 in those games I would consider it a win.

2. Georgia Bulldogs (LW: 2)

Georgia has been extremely impressive this season, with their closest game being a one point win at Notre Dame, which just murdered So. Cal. They still have to play Florida, South Carolina, Auburn and Kentucky. I would expect them to maybe slip up and lose one of these, and the most likely one is Auburn. But I doubt they lose any of these games, as I really do think Georgia has a good chance of being undefeated going into the SEC Championship.

1. Alabama Crimson Tide (LW: 1)

I’m sure this picture above currently displays how every Alabama fan feels about right now. I really don't think they lose a game and will go in to a heavyweight matchup against Georgia. That’ll be a crazy one.

P.S.

Sorry for missing last week guys, school comes first. It won't happen again. Please don't roast me in the comments. See you guys next week. :)
