The Gamecocks add another Mr. Football.

Welcome back to the feed pail, where we take a look around the internet for some choice South Carolina Gamecocks tidbits and share them back here with you.

Gamecock commit Zacch Pickens named SC’s Mr. Football — Lou Bezjak, The State

South Carolina has added another Mr. Football to its roster, this time in the form of T.L. Hanna defensive lineman Zacch Pickens, who is a five-star recruit and rated the top prospect in the state. Pickens becomes the 10th Gamecock to earn the award, and the second in a row after quarterback Dakereon Joyner took it home last year. Pickens is a crown jewel of the 2019 recruiting class and it’s easy to see why.

Dawn Staley reloads with No. 1 recruiting class in women’s basketball — David Cloninger, The Post and Courier

While the Gamecocks are uncharacteristically struggling so far this season, hope is very much on the horizon after coach Dawn Staley made her No. 1 class official earlier this week. The group is highlighted by Aliyah Boston, who picked South Carolina over powerhouse UConn, and Laeticia Amihere, known for her ability to dunk. Overall, it’s the best class the Gamecocks have brought in since A’ja Wilson and company in 2014. Pretty sweet.

South Carolina makes a leap in 247Sports’ Top 25 facility rankings

The Gamecocks’ facility game gets a heaping dose of respect in this list, as South Carolina improved from No. 22 in the previous set of rankings all the way up to No. 7 in the latest batch. Can’t wait to see that new indoor practice facility finally open its doors.

Founders Park is getting a swag upgrade

In more facility news, the Yardcocks’ ball field will have a shiny new Jumbotron for the 2019 season.

This is a welcome addition, since you frankly can’t read a dang thing on the current video board unless you’re sitting really close to it. While this is already a premier park in the sport, kudos to the South Carolina administration for not sitting on its laurels and continuing to upgrade the facility.
