New, 83 comments

The Gamecocks are in good shape for the season opener.

Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports

The South Carolina Gamecocks are finally ready to hit the field, hosting the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers in Williams-Brice at noon tomorrow. Welcome back also to the Akeem Auguste injury report, so named for the infamously banged-up former cornerback. He’ll guide you through a thankfully short list of Gamecocks.

Zero Augustes - Full go!

One Augustes - Should play, but won’t start

Two Augustes - Game-time decision

Three Augustes - Questionable

Four Augustes - Unlikely

Five Augustes - Out

Chavis Dawkins — Five Augustes

The junior wide receiver suffered a high ankle sprain during fall camp and has been sidelined for a few weeks now.

Chad Terrell — Five Augustes

The sophomore wide receiver tore his ACL during the spring and is still rehabbing that knee. Coach Will Muschamp expects him to return by the end of September, so he’s at least on the radar for a return.

Mon Denson — Two Augustes

The junior running back is a game-time decision with a balky hamstring. Denson was listed as a co-starter on the Gamecocks’ depth chart, though admittedly three other backs were as well. He came on a bit near the end of last season with a couple big touchdowns against Florida and Tennessee, so this could be a bummer for him.
