Bubba possibly in play for UCF? KnightNews.com takes a gander at some of the names that could take the place of the departed George O'Leary in Orlando, and Jr. is one of them. So is former Rutgers head man Greg Schiano and Florida DC Greg Collins. Speaking of Jr... the father of now seven (yes, seven) dishes on how he feels after Sr.'s resignation with the crew over at The Big Spur.
Of course, South Carolina and UCF aren't the only openings after O'Leary's retirement and Al Golden's firing on Saturday and Minnesota's Jerry Kill stepping aside due to health problems. (Our thoughts and prayers go out to him.) NFL.com ranks the jobs in order, and you may be a little surprised as to who they slot as the "perfect fit".
Come on, guys. This is how rumors really get started.
If you've been tracking USC's plane, it was in Dallas/Houston yesterday and again today for development purposes, I'm told.

Could Zack Bailey jump ship after a new coach is in place? The man who helped bring him to Columbia is gone, but the true freshman center, pushed into action after Alan Knott's injury, says he's here for all four years.
The State recaps yesterday's practice as prep for the Aggies continues. Deebo Samuel "may or may not" play again this year, per SOS Jr. The team is also keeping last year's season opening loss to A&M in the back of their minds as a learning experience. "We put up the stats (on the board) from last year," T.J. Holloman said, according to The State. "This year we just want to come out here with a clean slate and run to the ball." The P&C, ironically, says that the aforementioned loss to A&M was pretty much the beginning of the end for Spurrier's nice run. Meanwhile, Kevin Sumlin had a few kind words for the (former) HBC.
B/R previews Saturday's contest at Kyle Field. Brian Leigh says that Kevin Sumlin's "signature offense cost them both games, which has led to across-the-board questions. Who is the starting quarterback? Who should be calling the plays? Is Sumlin as good as advertised?" Here's the Houston Chronicle's preview, too.
#CROOTIN. Kornblut reports that Kirk Botkin is looking to land four-star Warner Robins (Ga.) two-way Marquez Callaway. Callaway is already familiar with the Columbia area: his brother is in the Army and is currently stationed at Fort Jackson.
Basketball season's around the corner! Frank Martin met the media yesterday, and GC's got a look at some bits and pieces from the presser.
"The G-Hive". $75 gets you five custom Carolina women's basketball T-shirts throughout the year. With the ladies' success last year, that shouldn't be hard to get interest in.
Did you hear? North Carolina and South Carolina are playing each other in Charlotte in 2016 and 2017... on the diamond, that is. They'll be getting together at the beautiful BB&T Ballpark.
It's Senior Night for the women's soccer team! GamecocksOnline has a preview of tonight's match against Tennessee as they send off a group of eight that has had great success here. It's likely not the last time we'll see them at Stone Stadium, because they might be able to get back into the discussion for a national seed and at least one home match in the NCAA tournament if they play their cards right in the SEC Tournament.
