Dingle wasn't highly recruited coming out of high school in 2015. He received no offers from Power 5 schools.
Dingle redshirted his freshman season at South Carolina.
Despite his relatively small size, Dingle holds promise in a variety of roles for the Gamecocks this year. The team is desperately thin at the position, and anybody willing to catch a pass is an option at this point, but Dingle's speed (4.4 second forty) could actually make him a viable target in an offensive situation that is going to have to mix it up to score points this season. Kurt Roper's spread scheme is going to have to rely on distributing the ball, despite Deebo Samuel and Bryan Edwards being the two clear prime targets, so look to see the ball go Dingle's way this season. He did log the two longest plays from scrimmage in the Spring Game, however those were the only two times he was targeted that day. We can't be sure exactly how he'll figure into the offense until the season gets underway, but the potential is there for an under-the-radar 4/5 option or a check-down receiver.
Did you know that Devin Dingle played Football, Basketball, AND ran track in high school? You do now. He also set school records in the 400, 4x400 relay, and 4x100 relay. I told you he was fast.
