AJ Cann
Redshirt Junior Offensive Guard
6'4", 314 lbs.
Bamberg, SC

Recruitment:
4 stars, 3rd-ranked offensive center in the 2010 class
Other offers: North Carolina, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Georgia, Tennessee, Oklahoma, etc.

College Career:
Since redshirting in 2010, Cann has started all but one game over the past two seasons. Was named to the freshman All-American team in 2011 by a handful of outlets including Phil Steele.

2013 Outlook:
Cann looks to be the strongest cog of what could be the Gamecocks' best offensive line in a while. He's been tabbed for the pre-season 3rd team All-SEC by the media. Cann's known as a gym rat and a hard worker. If you think I'm just spouting cliches to fill space, at least acknowledge that he earned the Everyday Hustle Award at the spring game. If all goes according to plan, he and Corey Robinson should form a formidable leftside tandem. If Cann has a big year and stays healthy, he'd have to be considered a candidate for leaving early.

Trivia:
Has a younger brother, Savalas, who's already been offered by the Gamecocks. He'll graduate high school in 2017, so it'll be a while before we find out if we're able to get a second Cann on campus.

Possible Todd Ellis play-by-play call:
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Jordan Jenkins tries to blitz the gap but AJ Cann anticipates it and shoots left to upend Jenkins, paving the way for a big gain by Mike Davis. A tremendous display of anticipation! You gotta believe ol' AJ spends so much time watching tape—they might as well call it "Cann's Film Festival!" BOOM!
