Well, the Yardcocks are (hopefully) back on track after they dismantled Furman earlier this week. Fortunately Florida lost to UGA last night. So the Gamecocks are currently half a game ahead of Florida for the SEC East lead, and have a chance to solidify that lead with a good performance this weekend. As Kaci mentioned earlier in our weekend preview, Missouri has a solid frontend on their weekend rotation as their Friday and Saturday night pitchers are very good. However, the Tigers of Missouri struggle to hit and score runs. So hopefully the Gamecock pitchers will be able to hold the Missouri offense down and allow our bats to get them some run support.
I hate anyone with the nickname of Tigers. Let's sweep these fools.
Go Cocks!
*UPDATE NUMBER 1*
While South Carolina ace Clarke Schmidt didn't have his best stuff last night, the Gamecocks found a way to rally past some good pitching from Missouri early on en route to an 8-5 win.
*UPDATE NUMBER 2*
The South Carolina Gamecocks clinched the series behind a solid offensive performance led by Alex Destino and a dominant outing by a trio of Gamecock pitchers from Braden Webb, Reed Scott and Josh Reagan. Now, let's go do the thing discussed in the original thread...let's sweep these fools.
