The No. 13 all-purpose back in the country per 247Sports Composite becomes USC’s 12th commit of the 2018 cycle, joining Deshaun Fenwick as the second running back in the class.
With Valentine’s commitment, the Gamecocks secure one of the fastest players in the country. At an LSU camp in June, Valentine was laser-timed running a 4.34 forty-yard dash.
Last season at Melbourne Central Catholic, Valentine racked up 1,059 all-purpose yards (884 rushing) en route to a 12-1 record. You can check out his season highlights here.
Valentine is also a high school track star and plans to continue to compete at the collegiate level. As a junior he won the Florida 4A state championship in the 100-meter with a time of 10.61 (really fast).
SportsTalk reported Tuesday morning that Valentine’s final decision came down to USC, LSU and Louisville.
