After a fairly strong first half that saw the South Carolina Gamecocks take a 21-17 lead into the locker room, things fell apart in the second half as USC fell 41-21 to the Tennessee Volunteers on the road.
It was a classic Nightmare in Knoxville game for South Carolina, which looked frankly quite terrible in every phase of the game. The Gamecocks are now left searching for a way to reach bowl eligibility against a schedule that doesn't have many opportunities left.
South Carolina falls to 3-5 (2-4 SEC) and will return home to face Vanderbilt next weekend after a disappointing road trip against a Volunteers team that, bare minimum, shouldn't have had their way the way they did.
