South Carolina avoided a midweek upset and beat Charlotte on Tuesday to improve to 3-1. The Gamecocks return to action Thursday afternoon as they continue a stretch of eight games in ten days by hosting the Kansas State Wildcats.
Kansas State is also 3-1 on the season and is on a three-game winning streak after dropping their season opener to Ohio State in the Sunshine State Classic Series. The Wildcats went on to defeat Pitt and Delaware and win a second matchup with Ohio State. Thursday’s game is the first meeting between Kansas State and South Carolina.

The Gamecocks will send junior LHP John Parke to the mound against the Wildcats. This is Parke’s first appearance of the 2017 season K-State will start Colton Kalmus. He is a senior right-hander who has made one appearance so far this season in which he did not allow any earned runs and did not record any outs.
