Redshirt Sophomore Center
6'4" / 268 lbs
Tyrone, GA (Sandy Creek High School)

Recruitment
Listed as three star prospect and the 48th best offensive guard in the country for his class by 247sports.
Received offers from Virginia Tech, Miami, North Carolina and Kentucky among others.

College Career
After a injury-riddled beginning to the 2014 season for the Gamecocks offensive front, Knott was thrown into the mix, making his first career start in the season's second game against East Carolina as center. His transition into the starting line up was about as seamless as you could've wished as he didn't experience any of the hiccups you might've thought coming for a young center. He went on to start eight games in total throughout the season and proved as formidable option up front, playing in all 13 games.

2015 Outlook
Currently, Knott is listed atop the depth chart at center. And after competing in practice throughout the spring and, as we assume through the fall, Knott enters the season healthy—something he couldn't have said a year ago coming off a knee injury. Look for him to lead the force behind the running game this season, while providing a steady hand snapping the ball.

Trivia
Serious question as I experience a brain fart and don't feel like researching the answer: who got injured last year that allowed Knott to come in and play center? I guess the softballs keep coming. We just like you and want you to stay rested heading into the holiday.
