The Gators have rebounded nicely from the surprising loss to Arkansas, quickly getting back up to their old tricks of blowing every opponent off the court. That Arkansas game remains the only conference game Florida didn't win by double digits.
2. Ole Miss Rebels
Sort of here by default. Given the likelihood of a Kentucky slide at this point, I'm not sure I think any team other than Florida is a lock for the tourney.
A perplexing team. I really thought they would be tough to beat once they got Bowers back, but his lackluster play has been a big part of the team's failure to take command of its season. Still, perhaps the team most likely to establish itself as a legit NCAA team now that Noel is out for UK.
Very nice conference record, but lack of quality wins hurts this team's profile. Could easily finish 12-4 in league (only likely loss remaining is at Florida) and still miss out on the NCAA Tournament.
Apparently, Nerlens Noel really was that good. Very tough break for Noel and the Wildcats, who looked like they were getting their season under control prior to the injury.
Interesting team that has some impressive wins in its back pocket that could come in handy on Selection Sunday. However, blowout losses on the road to South Carolina and Vanderbilt remain a huge black eye. Could make things interesting if it starts winning more games on the road. Win at Auburn was a good start.
Tennessee is on a three-game winning streak after weeks of uneven play. This is a talented team that could make some NIT noise if it gets its act together.
8. LSU Tigers
Like Tennessee, playing well as the season progresses. Very balanced team, and young coach is getting the most of it lately.
The Dawgs missed out on some golden opportunities to position themselves for an NIT berth with recent close losses. Still think Caldwell-Pope is among the league's best players.
10. Texas A&M Aggies
Good win over Ole Miss, bad loss at Vandy. Another SEC team that can't get itself out of neutral this season.
As I've said all year, this team has some very good young talent and will be better next year.
12. Auburn Tigers
At least they beat Alabama. What's worst is that this team has a lot of seniors.
This team doesn't have a lot of seniors, but that doesn't stop me from believing that most of its players will be gone next year. Look for Martin to clean house.
Ten straight losses, only one in a close game.
