I’m sure anyone reading this has already heard that the 2023 QB target South Carolina was trying to recruit picked Alabama. It seems like he chose Alabama partly because he thought their baseball team was in a better position than South Carolina’s. Who would have thought that? If there is not other reason to fire Kingston, this should be at the top of the list.

It seems Beamer did try to soften the news a little by sending out a #WelcomeHome tweet right after the announcement. It appears to be another 4-star guy, which is something this team needs more of. There is also a chance the 2024 QB recruit will reclassify to 2023.

South Carolina finished about 30 spots higher than Clemson in the Director’s Cup standings. They pulled in at a respectable 37th out of 295 schools. Clemson finished well back at 65. Thank goodness the women’s teams did so well this year. Hopefully the 3 major men’s teams will pull their weight this year.

Getting GG Jackson to flip to the men’s basketball team would help. There are rumblings that he wants to reclassify to the 2022 class. UNC doesn’t have a scholarship available for him if that is his plan. South Carolina has 2 scholarships available currently according to The State’s report today. He would be SC’s highest rated payer. The last highly rated recruit was PJ Dozier. This could get Lamont Paris’s tenure of to a good start in Columbia.

I think I saw that the SEC Media days are next week? It will be interesting to see who Beamer takes with him to put in front of the media. I would think Rattler would fill one of the spots. There will be a defensive player also (Pickens, C. Smith, Greene). I’m sure it will be an interesting time to be a fly on the wall when Saban and Fisher git their chance at the podium. I’m sure they will be keeping everything nice to avoid another fine.
