SEC Tournament Day 2 Recap
The second day in Hoover began with Game 5, a matchup between #11 Texas A&M and #3 Georgia. The game was lengthened by a weather delay, once again getting the entire day off schedule early. The Aggies beat the Bulldogs soundly, winning 7-0. Georgia now faces Ole Miss in Game 9, an elimination game at 10:30 a.m. Texas A&M plays in Game 11 today, scheduled for 5:30 p.m. ET, against Auburn.
In Game 6 the #7 Auburn Tigers faced #2 Ole Miss. Auburn trailed for much of the game, but rallied late to beat the Rebels 9-3. Ole Miss faces elimination in Game 9 against Georgia this morning, while the Tigers play the Aggies in Game 11 Thursday evening.
The primetime game on Wednesday was the Game 7 matchup between #8 LSU and #1 Florida, the two teams that played for the national title last year. It was a good game, but the Gators eventually triumphed 4-3. That sends LSU to Game 10, an elimination game against South Carolina that is scheduled for approximately 30 minutes after the end of Game 9. Florida plays Arkansas in Game 12, the late game Thursday night.
The Gamecocks were once again forced to play late into the night, as Game 8 did not begin until 10:45 p.m. Arkansas won 13-8, as Carolina’s rally fell short and they were sent to an elimination game against LSU that should begin around 2 p.m. The Razorbacks will play Florida in Game 12 tonight half an hour after the end of Game 11.

SEC Tournament Game 10: # 5 South Carolina vs #8 LSU
The Gamecocks have a quick turnaround today, with their elimination game against LSU scheduled for less than 12 hours after last night’s game ended. The loss last night dropped Carolina to 33-23, while the Tigers enter today’s matchup 34-24. The regular season series between the two teams in April marked the beginning of Carolina’s turnaround, as the Gamecocks swept the Tigers and then went on to win every remaining conference series.
Junior RHP Adam Hill (4.17 ERA, 90 SO, 41 BB) will start for the Gamecocks today. Carolina will need a strong start from him, as the Gamecocks have already used a lot of guys out of the bullpen over the last two games. LSU has not announced a starter yet.
USC vs LSU Stats
The loser of this game is eliminated from the tournament and will return home to await the NCAA Tournament selection on Monday. The winner will play in the quarterfinals on Friday against the loser of tonight’s game between Florida and Arkansas.
