The Final Cockdown: Elliott Fry

Kicker, legend, and friend to many.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Elliott Fry

Junior

Kicker

6'0" 164 lbs.

Frisco, Texas

Recruitment:

Fry received no significant offers coming out of high school. As a result, Fry walked on at South Carolina in 2013, his true freshman year.

College Career:

Fry has had an exceptional career at South Carolina ever since he walked on. Making 15 of 18 field-goal attempts in his freshman season, he landed on the All-SEC Freshman team. All the while he scored 99 points as a freshman and set a record for most single-season PATs in school history with 54.

Fry only continued to improve in his sophomore year, scoring 105 points making 18 of 25 field-goals with three of those misses coming from beyond 54 yards. His accuracy and consistency earned him a spot on the All-SEC second team.

2015 Outlook:

Fry looks to have yet another great year as a place-kicker in South Carolina. His accuracy and strength should only improve and he will likely have ample opportunities to show off a hopefully-improved range, given the bleak look of the Gamecock offense.

Trivia:

Fry has been a rock of consistency at South Carolina, both from the field as well as on extra points. In fact, Fry has missed only one extra point in his college career. Against what opponent and what year did his miss come?
