Rodrick 'Rod' Talley
RS Sophomore
Running Back
5'10" / 210 lbs.
Laurens, SC (Laurens)
Recruitment
Talley was not recruited by any major D1 universities.
College Career
Talley played his true freshman season at Gardner-Webb University, averaging just under 7 yards per carry on 40 rushing attempts. He transferred to South Carolina in the spring of 2014, and was ineligible to play last season because of NCAA transfer rules. He was able to take a redshirt year, and will be eligible to play this fall.
2015 Outlook
Rod Talley may not have an eye-popping resume (40 total NCAA carries, no real D1 interest), but he does have what seems to be, at least on paper, some real potential to be a productive SEC running back. Talley rushed for over 4,000 yards in his career at Laurens HS. He had a 332-yard game. Here are those highlights:
Yes, we're only dealing in the hypothetical, but, if his production since joining the squad last year are any indication, Talley seems to be on a very encouraging upward trend. While Brandon Wilds, David Williams, and Shon Carson will likely see the Lion's share of touches, but with a new-look backfield that includes Clayton Stadnik at fullback, you never know what could happen.

Rod Talley is just like the rest of us!

except, he's really fast:
My guy @RodrickTalley20 ran a couple 4.3s and a couple 4.4s today at USC. I swear the SEC is in for it next year. pic.twitter.com/LsRZ90XGuk

Trivia
Rod Talley wasn't the only pickup that USC received from Gardner-Webb University. Can you name the other transfer? (hint: he's also on offense)
