According to a source with knowledge of the negotiations, the sick old man of the BCS is about to get a little healthier. Texas Christian, former home of Gamecock AD Eric Hyman, will announce plans to join the Big East at a 2:00 press conference.

Edited at 5:33 pm:  Just wanted to explain that I received a call this morning from someone involved in the announcement while on the road.  I checked a single site on my smart phone and didn't see a mention of the story.  I had no delusions that GABA was the first, but didn't know how extensively it was being reported.  I pulled over at the next rest area and made two unsuccessful attempts to post from my phone before finally getting this up about an hour after the call, and two hours after the story was first reported at NCAA Fanhouse.
